  • Platinum, Silver, Titanium & 14K White Yellow Wedding Bands Education: Long after the wedding photos are stored away, your wedding bands will remain a visible and beautiful reminder of the day you wed, the vows you took, and your enduring marriage. To ensure the shiny ring you select remain as cherished on your 50th anniversary as on your wedding day, consider these factors before you buy:
  • Know Your Jewelry Style to find the right wedding band: Are most of your clothes classic, contemporary, or casual? Do designer labels fill your closet? Choose a wedding-ring style that complements your wardrobe, and you'll have a ring that matches your look & life-style. Look for unique design wedding band either in platinum or gold or titanium or silver depending upon your budget, a band which die cast and well crafted.
  • Decide on a Precious Metal for the Wedding Band: Gold or platinum? It might seem a simple choice, but there are things to consider if you pick gold. First there's color: Do you prefer yellow gold? White ? Or rosy-pink? Then there's the amount of gold content, which ranges from standard 14k, to finer 18k, to 22-24k (which can be too soft to hold a shape over the years). Platinum, today's "hot" metal, is more expensive and heavier than gold.
  • Wedding Band with Precious Stones or No Precious Stones? Diamonds and other precious stones add to the cost of a ring. If you have an engagement diamond ring, a matching diamond wedding ring can be a beautiful complement. Of course, not all young couples can afford diamond ring (and most men don't care for them). You can always start out with simple gold ring -- and upgrade when an important anniversary rolls around.
  • Match Engagement Ring with Wedding Bands? Look for the Diamond Engagement Ring to match Wedding Band. We carry Engagement Rings and Wedding Bands in sets. We carry Gia certified diamonds and bridal rings. • Titanium Wedding Band: Titanium is classified in two categories: commercially pure titanium (Ti) which is used in the chemical process industries and titanium alloys having such additives as aluminum (Al) and vanadium (V) and which are used for jet aircraft engines, airframes and other components. It is lightweight with a specific gravity of 4.5, or around 50% that of copper and 60% that of iron.

Wedding Rings Guide

  • Which wedding band style is right for me? Many people really do enjoy the look, feel and extra heft of the comfort-fit styles. Some people however find a less thick ring more comfortable. Flat and half round rings sometimes cost less, since they often weigh less. Ultimately the design and feel usually wins you over.
  • How wide should my wedding band be? This is obviously a personal choice. Taste, hand size, comfort fit and other concerns affect how wide your ring should be. 4mm to 8mm is common for men, with 5mm or 6mm perhaps the most popular. Women may choose a narrower design, especially if it is fitting next to an engagement ring. Sometimes the lady prefers a ring much wider than the man's. Ring with edges may seem "visually slimmer" than their actual width. Some people are sensitive to the alloys mixed in their jewelry and have allergic reactions. If you have had any problems of that sort you may want to consider a narrower ring. Wider ring tends to hold moisture, soap and cosmetics that can bother sensitive skin. Comfort fit ring tends to "breathe" better than flat or half round ring.
  • What wedding ring size are you this month? That's right, we are changing all the time. Over the many years we have been serving our friends we have learned that it's often wise to measure yourself more than once if possible. We have seen people change by almost half a ring size while they are sitting in front of our case trying on ring. Everyone is unique, but most of us gain about a half ringh size in the summer over our winter ring size.
  • Wedding Band Manufacturing Education: Our platinum ring is not combined with any 14k or 18k gold, are drop-forged die struck. This is the manufacturing process used to create our wedding ring styles of half round, inside round/comfort fit, milgrain and flat. Our rings that combine platinum with 18k yellow gold are individually cast and then permanently fused together.
  • Wedding Band Ring Size: In Millimeters, International Ring Sizes? Any local jeweler should have finger sizers for you to try on, ideally a wide set if you are planning to buy a wide ring, and a narrow set for a narrow ring. We also have assembled an international ring size chart for countries covering Europe and Asia. View Details.
  • Wedding Band Polish: Brush Finish: This is a texturing technique used on jewelry metals where a series of tiny parallel lines are scratched on the surface with a wire brush to give a brush finish. Matte Finish: Wire brush polishing, yields a smooth, but less shiny finish. Matte Finish has a soft, semi-reflective appearance. A frosted, non-shiny surface effect. Satin Finish has a soft brushed, lustrous appearance. It is like a brushed finish, but finer grain than matte. The ultra-fine brush lines hide minor scratches better than the other finishes.
  • Sterling Silver Wedding Band: Pure silver, also called fine silver, is relatively soft, very malleable, and easily damaged so it is commonly combined with other metals to produce a more durable product. The most popular of these alloys is sterling silver, which consists of 92.5 percent silver and 7.5 percent copper. Although any metal can make up the 7.5 percent non-silver portion of sterling, centuries of experimentation have shown copper to be its best companion, improving the metal's hardness and durability without affecting its beautiful color.

Wedding Rings Types

  • Types of Wedding Bands: Flat wedding band offers a linear, understated look. They have a basic rectangular cross section, with very slightly rounded edges. Pipe ring is flat on top and do not have a domed outside surface. They also feature the "comfort fit" inside edge.
  • Comfort-Fit Wedding Band is a relative newcomer. They are considerably heavier and more costly than the other bands. They have an oval cross section with very smooth rounded edges, giving them the comfort-fit name.
  • This is a very popular variation on a half round wedding ring, a bit like two half rounds back to back. The ring is usually thicker, thereby heftier, and rounded on the inside for a nice feel.
  • Half-Round Wedding Bands offer by far the most traditional look. Domed or raised in the center, they have a cross section that is flat on the inside, and rounded on top. Some half-round bands can have a beaded or "milgrained" edge for decoration. A half round or standard fit ring is flat inside. That is the "traditional fit". Since the edges of the ring are putting pressure on the flesh, these rings might feel a little bit tighter than a comfort fit ring. A comfort fit ring is beveled inside, in that manner the edges of the ring are not in direct contact with the flesh of the finger, resulting in a more comfortable fit.

  • Band Platinum Gold Stamping Education: Platinum Stamping: What are the marks inside my platinum jewelry? You're familiar with the gold standard, where 24k = 100%. The platinum standard is based on parts per thousand, where 1000 parts = 100%. All platinum alloys are derived from this standard. The two most common platinum alloys found in the US. 95% Platinum: This alloy is 950 parts per 1000 and 50 parts other metals.
  • 14K Gold: In the United States, 14-karat gold is used most commonly for jewelry. Fourteen-karat gold is 14/24ths, or slightly more than one-half pure gold. Jewelry of this fineness is marked "14k" or "585," the European designation meaning 58.5 percent gold.
  • If a piece of silver is marked "sterling" or "sterling silver," it must be at least 925/1,000 parts pure silver.
